Boston Electric Boats is hiring!  We are searching for outgoing and energetic dock hands to join our team for the 2024 season.  Although no previous experience as a dock hand is required, some experience in customer service, detailed cleaning or simply working outdoors in a fast-paced hands-on environment will be considered an advantage.

Entering our 4th season, Boston Electric Boats offers electric boat rentals & charters on Boston Harbor; a unique way for people to experience private boating in Boston.  We continue to strive for a top-quality guest experience from our digital presence to the personal interaction with our team to the cleanliness of our boats.   

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS

Our dock hands are critical to our daily rental & charter operations, from welcoming guests and helping them get set up on the boats to shifting boats around the docks, tying dock lines and performing detailed cleaning and maintenance.  As a guest facing position, candidates must have exceptional customer service skills, be extremely organized and be able to work well both as part of a team and individually.  Our dock hands wear many hats: host, electric boat expert, instructor, safety officer, professional cleaner, brand ambassador and BEB badass!  

HOURS & COMPENSATION

The hours for this position may vary based on scheduled weekly bookings and will include a combination of weekdays and weekends with a higher concentration of weekends.  Consistent weekend availability is required.  This is a part-time position with weekly hours expected to be within the 20-30hr+ range. This is a seasonal position that starts in Late April and continues through October.  The compensation for this position ranges from $15-18 per hour along with the opportunity for added compensation from customer gratuities.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

In order to be considered, candidate must be eligible to work and have at least 1 year of previous work experience.

A dynamic position like this requires a warm and outgoing personality, the ability to shift gears quickly from guest services to operational tasks all while maintaining a high level of professionalism and a positive attitude. 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

1-2 years of customer service experience

Experience cleaning/detailing of any kind

Experience sailing or driving a boat preferred but not necessary
