WHO ARE WE?

Entering our 4th season, Boston Electric Boats offers electric boat rentals & charters on Boston Harbor; a new and unique way for people to experience private boating in Boston.  We continue to strive for a top-quality guest experience from our digital presence to the personal interaction with our team to the cleanliness of our boats.   

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS

The Dock Manager plays a major role in the daily operations, from leading a team of Dock Hands in the boat handling, prep work and detailed cleaning to reviewing the daily schedule and planning of daily requirements.  The Dock Manager prioritizes the guest experience through presenting to each group of guests a clear welcome, overview, safety tutorial, and practice loop demonstration, all in a professional manner following the BEB customer service guidelines.  The Dock Manager is expected to represent BEB as a brand ambassador on and off the dock.   

For success in this position candidates must have exceptional customer service skills, be extremely organized with strong attention to detail and be able to work well both as part of a team and individually.  Our Dock Manager wears many hats: host, electric boat expert, instructor, safety officer, team leader, coach, professional cleaner, brand ambassador and of course BEB badass!  The Dock Manager reports directly to the owner of the company; open and consistent written and verbal communication is vital for success in this role and for the success of the operation.  

HOURS & COMPENSATION

The hours for this position may vary based on scheduled weekly bookings and will include a combination of weekdays and weekends.  Consistent weekend availability is required.  This is a part-time position with weekly hours expected to be within the 24-40hr+ range. This is a seasonal position starting in April and running through October.  The compensation for this position ranges from $20-30 per hour along with the opportunity for added compensation from customer gratuities.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

In order to be considered a candidate must be eligible to work and have at least 2-3+ years of previous work experience.  A dynamic position like this requires a warm, outgoing personality and the ability to shift gears quickly from a guest service focus to an operational focus along with coaching others while maintaining a high level of professionalism and positivity. 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

2-3+ years of customer service experience

College degree or currently studying

Experience coaching or leading a team 

Experience cleaning/detailing of any kind

Experience driving or sailing a boat preferred but not necessary
